Joel, Katie and Caleb

Back to Dripping Springs for another session this week! We’ve known Joel and Katie since they attended a Pre-Marriage Mentoring Class that Mark and I had the privilege of helping with several years ago. We were not their assigned mentors, but we fell in love with them all the same. Katie saw on Facebook that we had been to Dripping Springs for sessions recently and messaged me that the next time we came that direction, they would love to have some family and baby portraits! We were so glad to spend a few hours with them and their new baby, sweet Caleb!

Whew! I think I’ve finally caught my breath after a crazy Spring photography season and then a week attending a huge professional photography school in Dallas. This year, I had the opportunity to study under a very famous photographer from Canada, Don MacGregor. I always come back ready to get my camera in my hand and get back to work and this year was no different! I do love to learn more about my profession and in turn, give you an even better product to enjoy for many, many years!

Now to TWO more important topics: Brody and Dylan! These little guys turned TWO not very long ago and time does fly! I photographed them as newborns and at one and one and a half and now at TWO! They have such precious personalities and their faces just lit up as we played in wildflowers and watched for “PLANES!” flying over head! I love them and their parents and it’s such an honor to be called upon year after year to document these wonderful milestones! Brody and Dylan are rockin’ TWO year olds!

I only write a personal post a couple of times a year and this is one of them. I can’t resist. These two kids of mine are the joys of my life! They make me smile, they make me cry, they make me laugh and on occasion, they make me wonder! I adore them. Katie lives too far away in Southern California and Will lives a little too far in Dallas. They are both so fun and smart and creative and giving and more than anything else, they both love their Lord which gives me great peace.

I ran my “March is For Moms” special recently based on the fact that I don’t have many pictures of me and just my kids. I guess moms are the ones taking the pictures generally. So, I’m going to share with you a very personal picture of me, Katie and Will when he was born at Hendricks in 1985, then one of Katie and Will laughing at each other in 1986 and then the last one from Katie’s wedding to Matt in 2007 and they were still laughing!

My greatest titles are wife to Mark (or Mr. Mark as my client’s kids know him) and mother to Katie and Will. Debbie the photographer would be nothing without the three of them!

I love you, Katie and Will! I am a “happy mother” because of you!

Kyle and Stephanie

Kyle and Stephanie are getting married! A very sweet couple who are very special to our family. Kyle and our son were college friends and we think very highly of sweet Stephanie, a beautiful young woman who has stolen Kyle’s heart! We had such fun photographing them around downtown Abilene just prior to a rainstorm that was threatening us the whole time! Kyle and Stephanie, we wish you abundant blessings in your journey thru this life!

Yes, that’s right….2011! Kendra and her mom were wanting to capture some of these amazing bluebonnets from this Spring, so we did just a small part of her Senior session this week and will finish it up next Fall.

Josh, Emily and Natalie

I knew this past winter when we were buried under with our third and fourth snowfall that there was a chance we’d have gorgeous bluebonnets! Well, that is exactly what we’ve had here in West Texas! Perhaps the best I’ve seen in my seven years in Abilene! I have photographed brides, babies, children, seniors and families in this beautiful area rich with our state flower!

Today, let me introduce you to this sweet family: Josh, Emily and their 16 month old daughter, Natalie! While Natalie was having some teething issues, she finally came around and we have such precious images for her family to enjoy! By the way, Emily, these are not my favorites! Just a few to wet your appetite!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love baby feet!

We had a lovely Summer evening just prior to the thunderstorms to photograph this really special family! These are great kids, each with their own sense of humor. Let me say, it was very hard to take those serious pics not smiling as they just knew how to get the other one to break out laughing! So, it was great fun and even though I called Marcus “Andrew” all night, they were all very patient with me.

Keep this sweet family in your prayers the next few weeks as they travel to Zambia on a medical mission trip with their parents.
