Cousins Week! / Abilene Family Photography

Another wonderful family….well, actually two or three represented here in these sample images from their country session. It was a beautiful summer evening and the mosquitos even stayed away. Sure had fun with all the great kids and the big kids too! Summertime is really full of family sessions and I couldn’t be happier!

What a true honor to photograph this special family! Jonathan, Leslie and their family will soon be moving to Abilene where Jonathan will assume the pulpit at Highland Church of Christ. They decided on their session being in Fort Worth since that is where they are right now. So, we met at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and boy was it HOT! Those precious babies were sooooo good in spite of that awful heat and humidity! I met them for the first time when they walked up and my overwhelming feeling was “I love them already!” Enjoy a sample from their session…

McKenna Jane is One!

Sweet, sweet McKenna Jane turned one this Summer and I had SO much fun photographing her for her one year portrait! I found out pretty quickly that Miss MJ doesn’t care much for touching grass with her toes. (is this girl really a Texan?) So, our pink chair came to the rescue on this beautiful morning! Then, we had a little fun with a pink cupcake and she knew exactly what to do with that cupcake! Happy Birthday, precious McKenna!

Dylan and Brody are TWO!

Whew! I think I’ve finally caught my breath after a crazy Spring photography season and then a week attending a huge professional photography school in Dallas. This year, I had the opportunity to study under a very famous photographer from Canada, Don MacGregor. I always come back ready to get my camera in my hand and get back to work and this year was no different! I do love to learn more about my profession and in turn, give you an even better product to enjoy for many, many years!

Now to TWO more important topics: Brody and Dylan! These little guys turned TWO not very long ago and time does fly! I photographed them as newborns and at one and one and a half and now at TWO! They have such precious personalities and their faces just lit up as we played in wildflowers and watched for “PLANES!” flying over head! I love them and their parents and it’s such an honor to be called upon year after year to document these wonderful milestones! Brody and Dylan are rockin’ TWO year olds!

I knew this past winter when we were buried under with our third and fourth snowfall that there was a chance we’d have gorgeous bluebonnets! Well, that is exactly what we’ve had here in West Texas! Perhaps the best I’ve seen in my seven years in Abilene! I have photographed brides, babies, children, seniors and families in this beautiful area rich with our state flower!

Today, let me introduce you to this sweet family: Josh, Emily and their 16 month old daughter, Natalie! While Natalie was having some teething issues, she finally came around and we have such precious images for her family to enjoy! By the way, Emily, these are not my favorites! Just a few to wet your appetite!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love baby feet!

Beautiful, precious, timeless, priceless, stunning, blessed….on and on, I can think of words to describe these beautiful images! Here is Ava Kate and her mom, Aubrey and Aubrey’s mom, Sheree. They took advantage of our “March is for Moms” special and due to those pesky 40 mph winds, we got to have their session in April and in the bluebonnets! I was only going to post one, but wouldn’t you agree, these are all wonderful! (And, of course, there are more where these came from!)

Charlie is the cutest little one year old! His family lives in Eastland, TX and drove over on a beautiful day for his session! Charlie is a busy boy, but when you are the youngest of four kids, well, a guy has to watch out! He sure had fun playing in the leaves and exploring!

Being the mother of two children who do not live in Abilene, I completely understand this family’s joy of being “all together” and also wanting it to be captured in pictures! It IS important! I preach it and I believe it! And, so do Mary and Jody. Two of the kindest folks I have ever met. Jody is a local physician and loved by his patients. Enjoy these sweet images from our last session of 2009!
