The Story of Wayne and Ruby
August 12, 2009 Wayne and Ruby will celebrate (and I do mean celebrate) 50 years of marriage! These two crazy kids were so much fun to photograph! I’ve known them for many years as Ruby was my husband’s departmental administrative assistant when we lived here back in the 80′s and also when we first returned to Abilene. She is now retired and staying busy with Wayne, their three sons and four grandchildren!
Ruby was in high school when she met this tall, handsome Air Force guy! He said tonight, “if you saw my picture of her in high school, you’d know why I fell for her!” So they met, had their first date, ten days later he was gone on an assignment and when he returned, they married twelve days later! (Now, if you are one of my high school senior girls reading this….DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!)
Congratulations Wayne and Ruby! You are role models for us all!
I turned my back for one minute and when I turned back around, this is what I found!
