Happy Valentine’s Day!
I am headed out of town tomorrow for an exciting Maternity/Baby photography conference to be followed by the Southwest Professional Photographer’s Association’s annual convention! I absolutely LOVE to go to classes and learn what’s new out there and certainly how to improve my skills and I am way overdue for a trip like this. Since I will be gone for most of Valentine’s Day, I decided to honor my valentine today!
Mark has been my valentine for 29 years! We have been married 28 of those years, but it’s the first one when we were dating that is most memorable to me! We had been dating only four months and yet foolishly, I was hoping above hope for that certain bling to appear for my left hand! Well, when Valentine’s Day arrived, Mark was sick and homebound with Mono! So, he took some computer paper (my younger readers won’t know what this is) and handmade me a valentine. While this is certainly very sweet, when a young woman is expecting bling, computer paper just doesn’t quite measure up! But, three and a half months later, the bling did appear and we have had 28 wonderful, certainly blessed years! He is my best friend and I can’t imagine one day without him!
Let me also mention that Mark has pretty nice credentials! He has a doctorate degree in Statistics from Texas A&M University. He was a professor of Mathematics at ACU for seven years before we moved to Temple, TX where he was the Head of the Biostatistics Department at Scott and White Hospital. We moved back here almost five years ago so he could play golf…..I mean, teach again in the Math department at ACU!
However, after 5pm during the week, on weekends and all summer, he is my “master of light” on photo sessions! If I have ever photographed you and Mark came along, you know that I am the “artsy” one and Mark is the guy with that funny object in front of your face and speaking numbers to me! We are a team! I can certainly do photo sessions without him, but I don’t want to! He makes all the difference and gives me great confidence in my abilities. I am thankful for my sweet husband and his patience with me and my crazy business…Pure Photography!

ps…watch for BIG NEWS when I arrive back home from this conference!!!

I love you, too, Dad!
Awww… sweet post!
BTW, is the baby/maternity thing you’re attending the Sandy Puc “Bellies & Babies” tour? I’ve been looking at that one — it’ll be in Memphis in June. If that’s the one, let me know how you liked it.
Sweet Mark….you forgot to post that he does a great “silly” face to try and get the uncooperative babies to smile!!!!!
Can’t wait for your BIG NEWS!
Tiffany Rasor
Man, you were in a hurry for the Mrs. degree!
I knew Chad was the one by that time, but he’s the level-headed one and waited until we’d had a wonderful year under our belts. Julie’s boyfriend proposed on VDay. Have you heard? Can’t wait for your news!!!
