This was from their holiday session last year….

And, this is from their recent session with their sweet baby, Emory!  What a precious family!  Look at the joy in their eyes when they look at her face!  I  love it!

Brrrrr!!!!   Another REALLY cold family session, but considering it is December, I suppose we should expect such temps!  However, this family was great and the kids never complained once!  David is in the military, stationed here in Abilene and Veronica is a teacher.  The kids are in grades first, second and fifth.  Enjoy these downtown pics!  They could even be our advertisement for our January special, “Urban Days!”   Stay tuned for more info after the holidays including a hidden blog special!

This was another “brrrrr” family session from last weekend!  They were actually scheduled for later in the week, but with the changing weather we decided to move it up to guarantee we had images for gift giving, etc.  Corey and Jennifer have the sweetest family!  Can’t you tell just by looking at their images that they love each other and also have a good time being together!

Winter has arrived in full force in West Texas!  I feel lucky that we were able to get this sweet family photographed prior to the rain and snow that came later that week!  It was still very cold that day, but they all had such a good attitude and were real troopers!  And, they have beautiful portraits as a reward!

It’s always a real honor and pure fun to photograph my own family!  Barbara is my younger sister and, along with her family, they all live in San Antonio where she is a school teacher extraordinaire!  She is the kind of teacher you beg the principal you want for your own child!  Ron also works for the San Antonio school district.  Jessica is a first year college student, Jenna is a freshman in high school and Justin is a big sixth grader!  They are a very busy family!

“Oh what a beautiful COLD morning!”  Not exactly the way the song was written, but it certainly tells of our experience over the weekend in downtown Abilene!  Mix cold temps and a one year old and I’ll show you a very swift photo session!  However, we were able to get some great urban images for their holiday cards!  You might remember the little one year old as “guitar baby” a year ago on this blog!

I have known most of this family for a very long time!  So much history and relationship and precious times together!  So, to be asked to photograph their combined family portrait was such an honor!

A beautiful evening, a lovely family and an amazing location!  It was a bit cool that evening, but I will take a cool evening any day over a hot, mosquito filled day!  I had so much fun walking around scoping out locations to photograph James, Jennifer and their kids while we explored this wonderful ranch!  The artwork on the last image is not something you will see often on my images.  After all, I am named “pure” photography for a reason!  But, the emotion given this image just called for something to make it “pop!”  I loooove it!  Enjoy!

One of my favorite places this time of year is outside in the leaves and a cold nip in the air!  Such an afternoon was spent with this lovely family!  Mike and Jeannie are local band directors and Austin is a high school junior.  It’s a busy time of year for them, but considering they had not had portraits made in TWELVE  YEARS, I’m glad they finally took the time!  They are going to love their images from this Fall setting!

I am so happy to share these beautiful images with you this evening because this sweet family was photographed in their own backyard!  I love that!  The special memories these portraits will hold for them will be priceless!  I love looking back at old (hey, not that old) pictures and see my home in the background and remember even small details of those days.  I hope that baby Lane will do that very thing years from now!
