Golden Years

Ted and Cecil Faye are probably some of the nicest people I have ever met!  As my grandmother would say, “they are just good people.”  Well, Ted and Cecil Faye are celebrating 50 years of marriage this weekend and all the kids and grandkids have come into town to honor them and have a family portrait made to mark the occasion.

So Long Seniors ‘08, Hello Seniors ‘09!

I have to admit I feel like I just recovered from this past Spring’s Senior season, when I got the first call for this next season of Seniors!  And, if tonight’s session is any indication of what’s to come…oh boy, it’s going to be great!

Beth is the most beautiful young woman!  Look at her eyes!  She has a precious spirit and a wonderful smile!  She is also a talented athlete and will be involved in volleyball, basketball and track this year!  Watch the local sports for this lovely young woman!

Enjoy just a sample from our session this evening!

Mommy, Daddy and Riley

This was just a few weeks ago…

However, last week I traveled to Dallas to photograph the welcome addition of Riley to this sweet family! What a blessing for this sweet baby to be born into a family with such loving parents and surrounded by a wonderful extended family!  I just have a feeling you are going to watch Riley grow up right here on this blog!  Enjoy some of my personal favorites…

Okay, not your typical newborn picture!  But, Riley’s dad is a huge sports fan, in particular a Rangers fan! So, they really wanted some pics with Dad’s Ranger gear, but Riley was really just too tired to share the enthusiasm!

TPPA Awards

Mark and I just returned from Kerrville and the Texas Professional Photographers Association Summer Seminar.  This has become like a vacation for me, even though I’m sitting in talks and working the print room during the competition.  I guess you could say that this seminar is like a “shot in the arm” to get me energized for the upcoming busy Fall season!  Well, I normally either just enter one print a year or maybe two.  But, this year I entered four prints and one folio and I came away with three scores that will go toward my associate fellowship degree AND three distinguished print awards!  (can you see my jaw on the floor?) A very humbling, yet exciting trip!  I’ve always said that I am only as good as my subjects and I guess this proves that I have amazing clients who just happen to make me look good!

Here are the three prints that scored this year.  Enjoy!

This little guy scored so well that he will probably go on to the Southwest PPA competition!

You might recognize this sweet face from the cover of my website and blog!

“Miss Callie” should receive an award for just being plain cute!

Clay, Heather, Luke and Kendall

What a fun time we had with this lovely family!  I tried to ditch the parents and just have fun with the kids, but no doing that!  Luke and Kendall are twins and just turned four years old.  What I love about photographing children is letting their age show thru in their images.  I think when you view the images below, you will enjoy the wonderful personalities of both kids!  A few mosquitos joined us for the session even though they weren’t invited.  The kids hung in there anyway!  (Hope everyone got their ice cream sandwiches!)

Kristen, Marcus and Elizabeth

We had a lovely Summer evening just prior to the thunderstorms to photograph this really special family!  These are great kids, each with their own sense of humor.  Let me say, it was very hard to take those serious pics not smiling as they just knew how to get the other one to break out laughing!  So, it was great fun and even though I called Marcus “Andrew” all night, they were all very patient with me.

Keep this sweet family in your prayers the next few weeks as they travel to Zambia on a medical mission trip with their parents.

Happy Father’s Day to Ava’s Daddy!

What a very special Father’s Day gift!  Ava’s mommy drove her all the way to Abilene from the metroplex for her highly artistic photo session!  Sweet Ava was such a good sport as we posed her and uncovered her on a pretty warm Summer evening!  Apparently, Ava’s daddy’s “most prized possession” was his custom made guitar…that is until Miss Ava was born.  Now he has two prized possessions!  I think this was a precious Father’s Day gift and one I hope he will treasure forever.  I was so glad to just be a part of the event.

So, enjoy this sample of images from a warm West Texas evening until I have the rest ready for you to view!

Zach, Kara, Levi and Will

After a very windy, hot day in West Texas (I’m talking 100+) the evening turned out just perfect to photograph this sweet family for the second time.  You might remember I photographed them when the twins were born!

The twins just turned one year old a couple of weeks ago and they are precious!  So much personality and fun smiles!  We photographed several different places and the boys were such good sports!  Enjoy these wonderful family portraits and also portraits of the boys!

Christina

Finally I can post beautiful Christina’s bridal portraits!  You might not can tell by looking, but it was 39 degrees and the wind was blowing from the North the day of her bridal session!  But, she drove in from Fort Worth and it was now or never for her to do this session, so we did our very best and she was valiant in keeping a good attitude and a beautiful smile!  Her wedding to Ricky was on a much warmer day in Waco, Texas and we were so honored to attend and witness their vows.  Blessings to this sweet, sweet couple!

Sarah, Russell and baby-to-be

Sarah and Russell drove in from Dallas this afternoon for their last minute maternity session!  Sarah is due in four weeks with their first baby, so this was probably their last out of town trip for a while.  We had a wonderful meal at The Beehive in downtown Abilene (this photographer’s very favorite restaurant!) and then on to photograph around town.  Sarah and Russell both have a great sense of humor and were SO much fun to spend time with!

Blessings on your delivery and maybe stay tuned for some newborn images to come!
