Aaron, Mamie and Family

This sweet family was photographed in downtown Abilene several weeks ago on a hot Summer night!  They wanted the “Urban” look and in Abilene, downtown is as urban as we get!  But, I’m so thankful for so many great locations with character and interest!  Aaron, Mamie and their boys are so sweet and are fairly new to Abilene, moving here from Kerrville.  They have awesome images to choose from and Cindy is going to have great fun showing them!

A very early morning session to capture these two precious little girls for their one year and third year portraits.  I photographed Miss Callie when she was one, so you can almost imagine how it took me back to see her hop out of the car as a cute three year old!  And her little sister, Claire, is too sweet!  The whole time I was photographing her she kept putting her arms out for me to hold her.  Me…..a stranger!  And, at the end of our session, when I held my arms out to her finally, she came to me with her little lips puckered and planted one right on my face!  Melted my heart!

I am unusually behind with my blogging!  I blame everything on the West Texas heat!  So, stay tuned for some wonderful sessions to be posted very soon.

Today, I’m starting back with this sweet family from Putnam. TX.  It was a beautiful evening and we had such a good time photographing them!

Award Winning Clients = Award Winning Portraits/Abilene Portrait Photographer

My cup overflows with such great blessings as my amazing clients, my wonderful husband (the “Master of Light”), my precious kids, my sweet friends and a community that has embraced Pure Photography for the past six years!  And we are not slowing down!  Life is good.

Once a year, I like to share with you the results from the Texas Professional Photographer’s Association’s Summer Print Competition held in Kerrville, TX. Anything scoring 80 or above, qualifies to go on and be judged at the Southwest Professional Photographer’s Association’s regional convention in Arlington, TX in September.  Well, this year, all four of my entries qualified to move on to regionals!  A real banner year!

This portrait is titled “One Last Kiss” and won the trophy for “Best Portrait of a Child!”  What I love about this particular image is that it obviously was not posed! It really reflects my own style of photography.  The  judges loved this one!

“Joy Overflowing” was awarded a “Distinguished Print” award.  I love the look on this precious boy’s face!

“Contemplating Perfection” is a stunning portrait of this lovely ballerina who happens to be the daughter of Cindy, my sales associate!  This portrait received a “Gold Corner” award.

“Longing for Home” received a “Gold Corner” award also.  This young man was one of my 2010 Seniors and is already serving our country in the military!

The end of June, I received word that my portrait “Too Cool for School” was awarded a PPA merit and chosen by the International Print Competition to be displayed at their international convention being held in San Antonio in January!

The moral of this sweet story is: I am nothing without my awesome clients and my support team!  You trust me and therefore we get award winning portraits!

I spent a beautiful Summer morning at this sweet family’s home.  They are moving soon to a new place and Kellie wanted portraits done at the house their first baby was brought home to.  The house, the neighborhood and the land was all very special to them and they will have sweet memories to share with baby Aubrey as she grows up!

Another wonderful family….well, actually two or three represented here in these sample images from their country session.  It was a beautiful summer evening and the mosquitos even stayed away.  Sure had fun with all the great kids and the big kids too!  Summertime is really full of family sessions and I couldn’t be happier!
